Meet Dr. Thanusha Neelapareddy

About

I entered the field of clinical psychology with a vision to create a practice that provides compassionate, culturally responsive, and individualized mental health care. My South Asian identity deeply informs my understanding of the stigma surrounding mental health in many communities, and I am dedicated to offering a supportive space where clients feel safe addressing their concerns. My mission is to empower clients by fostering resilience, insight, and personal growth, while also helping them navigate life’s complexities with self-assurance.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my dog (you might hear him in the background of our sessions), dancing, and making music - activities that keep me grounded.

Training & Education

I received my Psy.D. from Loyola University of Maryland’s Doctoral program in Clinical Psychology and received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Texas at Austin. I completed my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL and my postdoctoral psychology fellowship at Dell Children’s Medical Center/UT Austin Medical School here in Austin, TX.

I am also very passionate about and dedicated to teaching, training, and supervision. I have had prior experience of supervising psychology interns and practicum students along with psychiatry medical students and residents at various academic medical centers. I am currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education, and School Psychology at Texas State University.
